Some people have so many goals, with so little motivation and expect changes to happen. I used to be one of those people. 😫 I learned that you can tell yourself you will accomplish what you want. I believe in that "speak it into existence" stuff. But, you actually have to be proactive to get something done. We all have big dreams, but they literally mean nothing if we don't do anything to reach for them. You can't expect different results if you are doing the same things. But EVERYONE knows that already. Let me give you a personal example real quick. When I got to college I played on the basketball team for my freshman year. Now of course it was different! This was the first time I was playing with and against like 21 and 22 year olds. Now the age gap isn't that wide, but their experience level was so much higher than mine. That was expected. I attended every practice and every game. By the end of the season my highest scoring games was against Salisbury University and I scored six points. 😬 OUT OF THE WHOLE SEASON SIX POINTS WAS THE HIGHEST I EVER REACHED!!! Do you know how embarrassing that is?😂🤦🏽♀️ I don't think you do. And that's not the only opportunities I ever had. It would be multiple games I'd be put in and literally brick every single shot. Why you ask? Yes, I did attend every practice whether it was at six in the morning or six in the evening. Obviously doing that six days out of the week didn't change me from being a bench player, to the sixth man or even to a reliable player on the team. Why? BECAUSE I DID NOT DO ANYTHING DIFFERENTLY! Yes, we all want to be that important person on the court or anywhere in life. But we have to work for it. Now, I know what I had to do. I should have been in the gym every chance I got outside of practice hours working harder than hard. My motivation wasn't there. My enjoyment for the sport wasn't there anymore. ☹️ But trust me every game I would always beat myself up and say "why didn't you practice harder, why didn't you lift weights, why didn't you shoot more" or something like that. But even after that I just went to my room and felt bad for myself instead of CHANGING MY SITUATION TO GET DIFFERENT RESULTS. Basketball was a hobby for me. I took it to the next level and sometimes I wish I hadn't. But it was an experience I will always remember. With that being said there is more than one way to get to the top. Don't want to work hard for what you're doing? Change your goal! Now don't get me wrong anything that is worth anything you'll have to work hard for. But do it because you want to. Do it because you know the reward is worth the challenge. If you know me, you know that I will be productive towards what I am truly passionate about. Same goes for anyone (its pretty much common sense). If you find yourself ever doing something that you just have the hardest time working for, change your goal and work towards something different. It will take time and you might have to try different things to figure it out. Once you do, it will be worth it.
